Posting a message to the group
Please post any messages to the group by sending an email to an email address, as in the sample listname@basis.cloud. All answers are automatically posted to the group and are visible via web interface.
When you reply to an email, the “Reply to” address is amended accordingly and the original address suppressed. All emails sent to
listenname@basis.cloud are automatically forwarded to the group.
How to subscribe
- Set up a Google Group account if you do not have one. Go to groups.google.com and click on “Sign in” in the top left-hand corner.
- Click on “Open account” and enter your email address. (Your usual company email address that you already use for emails from BASIS is sufficient. You do not need to create a separate Gmail address.)
- Click on the link to the group you want to join (refer to the table “Available forums”).
Background information for the BASIS developer forums
BASIS has been running a number of online discussion groups for a long time. Any BASIS user, from novice to expert, can use them to discuss technical issues relating to the BASIS development environment. Many users, some of whom have been our customers since the 1980s, have built up considerable know-how, and are always happy to share this with new users and less experienced BASIS developers.
In addition, BASIS staff in Product Development, Support, and the Professional Services team regularly read the discussions in the forums and are able to give valuable tips. BASIS Europe recommends that all newcomers subscribe to the appropriate forums so that they can benefit from the wealth of experience the “old hands” have to offer.
Forum rules
The purpose of the forums is to provide a platform for open discussion and sharing of knowledge among our customers. They do not replace technical support.
We expect that all subscribers respect netiquette rules. Any subscribers who attract attention with vulgar language, or threaten or insult other participants, may be permanently excluded from the forums.
Make sure that your post sticks to the relevant topic. Please do not post any jokes or other off-topic contributions.
