Founded in 1985

BASIS was founded in 1985, making us one of the longest-standing mid-market IT companies, still independent and privately held.

Business BASIC and Java going together

Since the year 2000, BASIS has moved their technology to the Java world, unveiling the object-oriented development environment BBj for the JVM, which forms the core of our ever-growing product family.

BBj is unique, because it is the core of an efficient modern-day programming environment, which allows programmers to easily handle today's software requirements. Yet, it is still downward compatible with BASIS legacy technology of the 1980s, thus protecting our customer's investments over periods virtually unheard of in the fast-moving IT world, yet still keeping upgrade paths to the 21st century open for them.
